GCB Devotions

Welcome to GCB Devotions.  These are designed to help you go deeper with God each day.

#7 THE RESURRECTION - APRIL 12TH, 2020

So here we are at the final day of our Easter Week devotions. We’ve walked with our Saviour through The Garden, The Arrest, The Denial, The Trial, The Crucifixion and finally the burial.

#6 THE BURIAL - APRIL 11TH, 2020

Yesterday was Good Friday. It has always been a special day in my life but with an awkward feeling. A real sense of despair and sadness coupled with an expectation of what’s to come on Easter Sunday.

#5 THE CRUCIFIXION - APRIL 10TH, 2020

Today the journey of pain for our Saviour comes to a dramatic and excruciating end. The verses we read today begin with Jesus being led away by the Roman soldiers after he’s been whipped beaten and had a crown of thorns pushed down into his head.

#4 THE TRIAL - APRIL 9TH, 2020

The image behind the above title “Seven Days with The Saviour” is more than just a background. This was a picture which was taken on our trip to Israel when we visited the old part of Jerusalem where Jesus was brought before the council and sentenced to death.

#3 THE DENIAL - APRIL 8TH, 2020

It may be that during this season of being at home in isolation you have had time on your hands to reflect about many things in your life. The good things and the bad things.

#2 THE ARREST - APRIL 7TH, 2020

The glory of God displayed in the very midst of the darkest of times. This was it, the very start of the journey of the physical pain endured by our Saviour in order that we can have that inner peace as we read these very words.

#1 THE GARDEN - APRIL 6TH, 2020

The sheer pain and agony of what Jesus endured can initially be seen as we read how he prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane. Luke tells us that it was as though his sweat became drops of blood.
